About Anglia

Anglia was established in 1989. We have produced translations for a large number of ministries, government agencies, businesses and law firms, including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Riksbank and the Swedish National Debt Office. We have had a framework contract with the Swedish Government Offices for a number of years.

What is an authorised translator?
The professional Swedish title Auktoriserad translator (authorised translator) is protected by statute and may only used by translators who have passed the stringent examination set by the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency. Authorised translators are subject to statutory rules on secrecy and are empowered to certify translations with the special official stamp issued by the Agency. There are approximately sixty authorised translators from Swedish into English.

Authorised translator David Kendall
David became an authorised translator from Swedish to English in 1991. Since then he has worked through his own company specialising in legal and financial translations.

Simon Kendall
Simon worked for several years in corporate communications in Germany until 2018, when he began focussing on freelancing as a translator. He currently works primarily on financial translations.

Authorised translator Jan Runesten
After almost 20 years as a corporate lawyer Jan has been running his own law firm since 1996 specialising in business law. Jan became an authorised translator in 2001 and, since then, has also been working with translation of legal and financial texts from English into Swedish, such as contracts, judgments, loan documents, insurance terms and conditions, prospectuses and annual reports.
